Job overview:

• We are looking for a versatile professional to join our team as a Senior Commodity Trader (with over 5 years of experience).
• In this role, you will play a crucial part in our international trading activities; from purchasing goods from our suppliers to shipping them to our global customer portfolio. This includes providing excellent order follow-up and customer-oriented service to maintain our long-term relationships.
• The ideal candidate is proactive, goal-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-changing environment while maintaining a sharp focus on precision and accuracy.

Responsibilities:

• Independently coordinate transactions for our customers and foreign partners within the steel sector, after thorough training and with team support.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders in the steel industry.
• Negotiate contracts and manage logistics to ensure timely delivery of products.
• Monitor and analyze market trends to predict future market movements and make strategic trading decisions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Accurately maintain transaction records and regularly report to management.

Qualifications:

• Strong organizational, administrative, trading, and logistics skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven experience in commodity trading
• A passion for international trade and developing new markets
• Fluent in Dutch and English; French and/or Spanish is a plus
• An enthusiastic and positive team player
• Hands-on, autonomous, and service-oriented approach to projects
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and relevant software applications
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, communication, trade, international business, logistics, or equivalent
